We're back for more online open mic action on Friday 5th June at 8.30pm. We're sticking with Zoom - please register before the event by following the link: https://us02web.zoom.us/meeting/register/tZ0lf-CtpzwsH9LSH0bvKmWM9Rxz5SgpRPi3
Performers - please contact me in advance to book a spot on info@theacousticballroom.com Zoom works on many devices so everyone should be able to take part. Mics will be muted for everyone apart from whoever is performing, but please feel free to keep your video on as well as taking part in the live chat. It really helps to keep the lovely atmosphere of the Ballroom alive. Of course, if you'd rather keep your video off please do - everyone is welcome to participate in whatever way feels most comfortable! (Pro-tip - connect speakers). Performers - if you do have any kind of mic that you can plug into your device/laptop then that would be great. If not then that's totally fine too. I'd recommend that louder performers don't play too close to your laptop/device to avoid the sound distorting. But please don't get hung up on this - the main thing is that it's just lovely to see you all there and to keep the Ballroom going during this crazy situation!

Hello Ballroom friends. Last week's online Ballroom was just wonderful - it was such a pleasure to see you all there, listen to all of that lovely music and read all of your comments throughout the whole evening. I'm sorry that there were a couple of tech hiccups which meant some sound was dropping out and we were unable to hear from a couple of people.
So to experiment with a different platform, I'm going to try out Zoom with a special mini Bank Holiday Ballroom on Friday May 8th. To perform or watch, please register beforehand here: https://us04web.zoom.us/meeting/register/upwsde-opzorH9fHccIEprcbmbBE30rMeXTR Please also email me if you would like to perform - theacousticballroom@gmail.com So the online Ballroom earlier this month worked so well it's happening again. Welcome to the Lockdown Sessions Volume 2 this Friday 1st May!!
Again, I'm assuming you'll be using your phone to take part in this. (Rob Bowker has posted a handy guide in the Ballroom Facebook group for people wanting to watch on larger screens - thanks Rob!). Here's what to do to take part in Friday's online Ballroom. 1. If you’re not already on Instagram sign up now 2. Make sure you are following @acousticballroom 3. To watch the live performances simply make sure you watch our live video on Instagram starting just before 8.30pm on Friday 3rd April. 4. If you want to perform – please email me as soon as possible on info@theacousticballroom.com. I’ll have to plan out the running order in advance so it’s really important you let me know beforehand if you want to perform. **PLEASE ALSO LET ME KNOW YOUR INSTAGRAM USERNAME - THANKS!!** 5. Performers – on the night, when it’s your turn to play I’ll invite you to join the live video. Please be aware that anyone who follows you will be able to watch your live performance as well as everyone watching the Ballroom live feed. You’ll get one song each. OK – looking forward to seeing and hearing you on Friday! Any questions just ask. The easiest thing for me is email – info@theacousticballroom.com Take care. I hope you’re all safe and well. Ballroom x So, the next Ballroom is this Friday 3rd April. We’re not going to let a little thing like an unprecedented government lockdown stop us. Oh no. So…. the April Ballroom is happening online via Instagram live. There are ways to watch Instagram live via web browser, but you’ll have to Google that – I’m assuming that you’ll be using your phone. This is how it’s going to work:
